A Recap and Non-Reflection attempt to recall events (enroute to Tacloban, Leyte) – Tuesday

(OK... so internet-less for a few days... Here is backlogged blogggggging)

Sitting in Caticlan Airport, an hour towards departure to Tacloban. Sleepy again from only four hours’ sleep from another seamless day and night of events. ...A summary:

...i guess ... can say.... started with a refreshing, soothing, strong traditional Philippine "Hilot" massage, that part ended with a sweet strong ginger honey tea, and then whisked away with Anna and her nice, young eager German friend by a small but nice and kind of hot local guide for a crazy motor-tricycle-taxi ride through the narrow alley-island-streets packed with other motor-tricycles to the other side of the island for an hour or so of parasailing about 150 meters up in the clear windy 4 o’clock summer skies and down again for a dip in the salty cool water then up again to the boat, a quick dry-off and back to the taxi ride and then off to dinner with Anna for sort of rare Italian squid ink pasta (pasta nero di sepia) and a bottle of red wine for a change. Then as the food and drink settled in, perfectly timed reunions and recaps passed by with friends from our first swim night , and then Anna off with plans to meet again later, while in comes Nina, the sweet little local ant and dive master to talk of life and travel social currents before the two of us head off for a few fast spinning retro games (and brief lessons for me) of foosball at a bar called Hey Jude with her and two other local foosball (apparent) experts over drinks with music spinning by the DJ behind the bar, then in come a group of 3 Swedish and one Californian Hong Kong exchange students studying Public Administration/Civic Organization on a school break, so off to chatting with them and Nina and then off with the new larger group to Summer Place for more people watching, mingling, laughing, reflecting, drinking, dancing, sweating, more dancing with the moonlit ocean tides rising and falling and glistening behind us, while our parched hungry selves sat and gobbled quail eggs as crowds came and went and as the daylight hours approached. Finally a shower, brush, last minute packing, quick sleep and dreams of the tired morning and boat ride ahead that came and went and found me here,

now in a plastic blue chair in the airport across the sea near a big metal breezy fan circulating the soft humid air over the faces of the many Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, maybe South Africans and Aussies and Germans and Norweigans, in the small predeparture room with big windows looking out to the airplane parking lot (aka small runway), and now me in flip flopped feet rubbed sore from the straps and sand and salty water, mind roaming with music still echoing in my ears, seeing Anna’s even more tired head in my peripheral bobbing unconscious, jerking to a restless sleep, everyone looking tired, awaiting the next leg.

And that was Monday-Tuesday, but here are some pics from Island hopping and snorkling with another fun group of people on Sunday:
